Founder narrative (Vata → Pitta → Kapha / Return → Align → Rise), the name meaning, heritage note, and an Ayurveda 101 explainer.
Three years, three doshas, three chapters
Founder narrative
For twenty-five years I built a career in finance. Fast. Precise. Measured in outcomes, deadlines, productivity.
Then it stopped working, quietly, then all at once.
I didn't have a plan. I had a body that wouldn't stop signalling, and a life that needed me to actually listen.
Three years, three doshas, three chapters — mind, voice, body. I hadn't planned it that way. But it's why the Amma & Atta range exists as three blends, not one: Return. Align. Rise.
The journey, mapped
Return → Align → Rise
Chapter 1 · Vata
Return
Return to yourself. Breathe.
Chapter 2 · Pitta
Align
Cool the heat. Keep your edge.
Chapter 3 · Kapha
Rise
Wake the body. Rise.
The name
Amma & Atta
Amma. Mother.
Not just a name for the woman who raised you, the role itself: the one who nourishes.
Atta. Flour.
Not a flavour — the base everything else is built on. Put the two words side by side, and that's the whole philosophy in a name.
Heritage
The name comes from my husband's Indian heritage — the kitchen language of a household where what you ate and what you drank were never treated as separate decisions. Placeholder copy to be expanded with the founder.
Ayurveda 101
What is a dosha?
Did you know Ayurveda traditionally describes people using three energy types, called doshas — Vata, Pitta and Kapha? It's less 'which one are you' and more 'which one needs your attention today' — exactly the question our three teas are built around.
Vata (air & space), Pitta (fire & water), Kapha (earth & water). Traditional Ayurvedic framing only — nothing here is medical advice or a treatment claim.
